Hydrogeochemical Mixing data from Lake Michigan Tributaries 2011

This dataset describes the hydrogeomorphic structure and lake-tributary mixing in three intermediate-sized Lake Michigan rivermouths: Ford River, Manitowoc River, and Pere Marquette River. Data were collected from May to October 2011. Water chemistry variables were measured with a multiparameter sonde along longitudinal, lateral, and vertical transects. Magnesium, boron, and stable water isotope concentrations were also determined from grab water samples at particular depths.

Field Evaluation of an Improved Solid TFM Formulation for Use in Treating Small Tributary Streams, data

This study builds upon work conducted under the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (GLFC) Technical Assistance Program that was funded to prepare and evaluate an alternative solid formulation of the lampricide 3-trifluoromethyl-4-nitrophenol (TFM) in a laboratory flume. The project aligns within the lampricide theme in the Sea Lamprey Research Program by improving lampricide performance, efficacy, and safety through the development of a more environmentally compatible lampricide formulation compared to the current surfactant-based TFM bar. Reconnaissance of chemicals of potential biological concern in tributaries of the Great Lakes using passive samplers in 2010 and 2014

This data set is a compilation of data from two sampling efforts (2010 and 2014), focused on determining the presence and distribution of organic contaminants throughout the United States portion of the Great Lakes watershed. Water-borne contaminants were monitored in 69 tributaries of the Great Lakes using semipermeable membrane devices (SPMDs), and polar organic chemical integrative samplers (POCIS). Analyses included 185 chemicals (143 detected) including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), legacy and current-use pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) and organophosphate fire retardants, pharmaceuticals, fragrances, industrial chemicals, surfactants, and others.
