Natural cave passages penetrating a coastal aquifer in the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) were accessed to test the hypothesis that chemoclines associated with salinity gradients (haloclines) within the flooded cave networks of the karst subterranean estuary are sites of methane oxidation. Two field trips were carried out to the fully-submerged cave system located 6.6 km inland from the coastline in January 2015 and January 2016. The primary objective of our study was to to determine the effects of riparian restoration on birds in the Colorado River delta. These data were compiled for monitoring riparian zone trends and changes in the Lower Colorado Delta as part of the Minute 139 of the 1944 Water Treaty between the United States and Mexico. The quality and quantity of the Delta’s riparian and aquatic ecosystems have been dramatically reduced over the past century, due largely to significant alterations to natural hydrologic and sediment regimes. The Minute 319 Agreement states that 130 million cubic meters of water was to be released during the spring of 2014. These data were compiled to compare the ability of matched filtering (MF) and linear spectral mixture analysis (LSMA) to map isolated wetland sites using Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper (TM) and Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) data. We analyzed 81 stock ponds corresponding to a 2007 Landsat 5 image and 73 sites corresponding to a 2014 Landsat 8 image in southern Arizona and northern Sonora, Mexico, with ponds ranging from completely dry to ~17,000 m2 surface water. During March and April of 2018, viable seeds were collected from Cañón de Fernández State Park in Lerdo, Durango and sent to Lafayette, LA for germination. This study tested the seedling growth and germination of Taxodium mucronatum from the Nazas River watershed at different salinity concentrations representing freshwater, moderate salinity, and high salinity.

This shapefile represents the offshore grid-based sampling frame intended for use with the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat). The grid consists of 10 km x 10 km cells spanning the oceanic waters surrounding Mexico.
This sampling frame is a set of grid-based finite-area frames spanning Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The grid for the United States is broken into individual grids for the continental United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Alaska is combined with Canada into a single grid. Each country/state/territory extent consists of four nested sampling grids at 50x50km, 10x10km, 5x5km, and 1x1km resolutions.
