During March and April of 2018, viable seeds were collected from Cañón de Fernández State Park in Lerdo, Durango and sent to Lafayette, LA for germination. This study tested the seedling growth and germination of Taxodium mucronatum from the Nazas River watershed at different salinity concentrations representing freshwater, moderate salinity, and high salinity.

Mitochondrial DNA markers have elucidated patterns of connectivity between green turtle nesting populations (rookeries) and juveniles foraging in neritic nursery habitats. However, missing rookery baseline data and haplotype sharing among populations have often impeded inferences, including ascertaining origins of Gulf of Mexico juveniles. We sequenced the mitochondrial control region and additional informative mitogenomic single nucleotide polymorphisms of juveniles foraging in Port Fourchon, Louisiana (LA, n = 127) and Santa Rosa Island, Florida (SRI, n = 47). A study using multiple techniques provided insight into tectonic influences on ground water systems; the results can help to understand ground water systems in the tectonically active western United States and other parts of the world. These data were compiled for a comprehensive review of pinyon-juniper communities including Pinus edulis, Pinus monophylla, Juniperus osteosperma, Juniperus monosperma, and Juniperus scopulorum. Compiled are a list of references cataloged by the topic of interest resulting from the literature search. The characterization for each reference includes the focal species, descriptions of the site(s) the study was conducted at, type of study, any land management treatments and the measured response variables. The location data for publications that provided location information have also been compiled in order to compare the geographic distribution of these studies with the distribution of the focal tree species.

Many regional stakeholders and water-supply managers in the Upper Rio Grande Basin have indicated CU is of primary concern in their water-management strategies, yet CU data is sparse for this area. The USGS Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center developed a Monarch Relevant Land Cover data set covering the area of Mexico. We used the 2010 land cover data set produced by the tri-national North American Land Change Monitoring System (NALCMS) and supported by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) that depicts year 2010 land cover across North America at 30-meter spatial resolution, and incorporated additional spatially-explicit information to develop this land cover map. The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) is a feature-based database that interconnects and uniquely identifies the stream segments or reaches that make up the nation's surface water drainage system. NHD data was originally developed at 1:100,000-scale and exists at that scale for the whole country. This high-resolution NHD, generally developed at 1:24,000/1:12,000 scale, adds detail to the original 1:100,000-scale NHD.
