In advance of design, permitting, and construction of a pipeline to deliver North Slope natural gas to out-of-state customers and Alaska communities, the Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) has acquired lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) data along proposed pipeline routes, nearby areas of infrastructure, and regions where significant geologic hazards have been identified. Lidar data will serve multiple purposes, but have primarily been collected to (1) evaluate active faulting, slope instability, thaw settlement, erosion, and other engineering constraints along proposed pipeline routes, and (2) provide a base layer for the state-federal GIS database that will be used to evaluate permit applications...

The State of Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) produced a digital surface model (DSM) and an orthorectified aerial optical image mosaic (orthoimagery) of the Resurrection Bay watershed, surrounding the city of Seward in south-central Alaska. Aerial photographs and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data were collected on August 13, 2015, and were processed using Structure-from-Motion (SfM) photogrammetric techniques to create the DSM and orthoimagery. All data are projected in UTM Zone 6 North (meters) using the NAD83 (2011; EPSG 26906) horizontal datum and NAVD88 (Geoid12A; EPOCH 2010.00) vertical datum. The project was part of an ongoing investigation of the impact of flooding,...

Frequency domain electromagnetic data and magnetic geophysical data were collected below a helicopter using a 30 meter (m) long line and a towed bird for the 1997 Iron Creek survey. The geophysical data were acquired with a DIGHEM-V Electromagnetic (EM) system, a Scintrex cesium magnetometer, and a Herz VLF system installed in on AS350B-2 Squirrel helicopter. In addition, the survey recorded data from a radar altimeter, GPS navigation system, 50/60 Hz monitors and video camera. Many of the files for this release were published on paper and available by mail order beginning in 1998. This updated data release provides a compilation of the previously published paper files (in PDF format) and the originating data files...
