These data were compiled for/to National Park Service and Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program. Objective(s) of our study were to resurvey previously established cross sections on the Green River, Utah, in, and upstream, from Ouray National Wildlife Refuge to document changes in channel width, depth, and cross-sectional area. These data represent the 2020 resurvey coordinates and elevations of previously established cross sections (1994 - 1996) on the Green River. These data were collected in the Green River between Jensen and Ouray, Utah from October 11-16, 2020. These data were collected by Ronald Griffiths and Joel Unema from the U.S. Geological Survey using real-time kinematic (RTK) GPS positioning....

These data were compiled for the National Park Service and Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program. Objective(s) of our study were to resurvey previously established cross sections on the Yampa and Little Snake rivers in the Deerlodge Park area to document changes in channel width, depth, and cross-sectional area. A secondary purpose of this study was to document the location of the cross-section endpoints using modern Global Positioning System (GPS) measurements so that future researchers may easily replicate these surveys. These data represent the 2017 resurvey coordinates and elevations of previously established cross sections on the Little Snake and Yampa rivers. These data were collected in Lily...

A USGS Unoccupied Aircraft Systems (UAS) Aquatic Airshow field testing and demonstration event occurred March 20–21, 2018, on the Arkansas River at Parkdale, CO, USA. At the airshow, a group of USGS scientists and technicians gathered to test non-contact sensors for measuring stream discharge using UAS and a sensor mounted on a tag line. Scientists at the event performed a series of tests to measure river discharge with experimental non-contact techniques. USGS scientists and field personnel traditionally conduct a discharge measurement either by wading or working from a boat. Due to the potential danger and high risk to personnel safety, hydrologic measurement work is limited during very high flow events, ice break-up,...
This dataset contains repeat survey data consisting of real-time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) measurements of water surface elevation and channel bed topography made while wading at cross section 5 (xs5), which is adjacent to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage at Arkansas River at Parkdale, Colorado (USGS 07094500), from March 19 to March 22, 2018. The RTK GNSS surveys were performed using a local base station associated with the stream gage and Trimble R8 ® and R10 ® receivers while wading the channel at xs5. The survey data were post-processed by performing a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Online Positioning User Service (OPUS) correction of the static observations...
