This data release contains input data used in model development and TIF raster files used to predict the probability of high arsenic (As) and high manganese (Mn) in groundwater within the glacial aquifer system in the northern United States. Input data include measured As and Mn concentrations at groundwater wells, and associated predictor variable data. The probability of high As and high Mn was predicted using boosted regression tree methods using the gbm package in R version 4.0.0. The response variables for individual models were the occurrence of: (1) As >10 µg/L, and (2) Mn >300 µg/L. Water-quality data were compiled from three sources, as described in Wilson and others (2019): a compilation of data from numerous...
Data in this data release were obtained for water samples collected under Yellowstone National Park Research Permit YELL-05194 in 2017 through the Integrated Yellowstone Studies Project funded by the Mineral Resources Program. Isotope-spiked incubations were carried out to determine methylation and demethylation potential for Frying Pan spring, Crystal Sister East, Crystal Sister West, and Turbulent Pool, which were selected based on existing data on total mercury and methylmercury concentrations (see companion data release (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9IUY03O). The data represent the experimental conditions of incubation experiments (temperature, time, and experimental spikes) and concentration data associated with...

This child item dataset contains a shapefile of labels for hydrogeologic sections illustrated in Heisig, 2023 (figure 3, plate 1). The "Sec_ID" attribute lists letter-number designations for the ends of each section. Hydrogeologic section labels are in the format x - x'. By convention, the x is on the west side and the x' is on the east side of generally horizontal sections. In generally vertical sections, the x is the westernmost of the section ends and the x' is the eastermost end of the section line.

An integrated hydrologic-flow model, called the Central Platte Integrated Hydrologic Model, was constructed using the MODFLOW-One-Water Hydrologic Model code with the Newton solver. This code integrates climate, landscape, surface water, and groundwater-flow processes in a fully coupled approach. This study provided the Central Platte Natural Resources District (CPNRD) with an advanced numerical modeling tool to assist with the update of their Groundwater Management Plan by providing them information on modeled future GW levels under different climate scenarios and management practices. This tool will allow the CPNRD to evaluate other scenarios as management changes in the future. A predevelopment model simulated...
Survey of velocity and bathymetry in Hoover Reservoir, ADCP source data, Columbus, OH (August, 2015)
These data were collected using a 600 kHz Rio Grande ADCP (acoustic Doppler current profiler) in mode 12 from a moving boat. The data were georeferenced with a Hemisphere A101 Smart Antenna differential GPS. These data were processed with Teledyne RD Instruments' software, WinRiver II. These data were collected concurrently with several water quality parameters that were collected by an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) in the same reach. This data release supports the following publication: VonIns, B.L., and Jackson, P.R., 2017, Response of currents and water quality to changes in dam operations in Hoover Reservoir, Columbus, Ohio, August 24–28, 2015: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2017–5027,...
This dataset is a point shapefile of wells measured for the potentiometric surface maps of the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA) in Spring 2016, 2018, and 2020. The data provided for each well considered in the applicable potentiometric surface map are the water-level date, altitude [relative to the North American vertical datum of 1988 (NAVD88)], a useYYYY code (which is positive if the water level was used in the potentiometric surface map for that year), a use comment (which is populated for water levels not used), and the water-level change values, for 2016-18, 2018-20, and 2016-20 for water levels with positive useYYYY codes for the applicable years. The data provided for each streamgage considered...
This dataset is a raster surface, in feet, of the depth to water, spring 2020, Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA). The raster cell size is 1,000 meters (3,280.8 ft). The raster was interpolated using (1) depth-to-water (GW_D2W) data from wells and (2) an assumed value of zero for depth to water at streamgages (SW_D2W) because the precise depth to groundwater at the streamgage is not known..The streamgage data is used only when it appears the regional aquifer and surface water are hydrologically connected.
Dataset contains the groundwater well locations and water-level measurements for 273 wells measured during a water-level survey of the Sparta-Memphis aquifer in Arkansas, January through June 2015. Well-location and water-level data is publicly available from the U.S. Geological Survey's National Water Information System.

Karst hydrologic systems are important resources in the state of Tennessee both as drinking water resources and as centers for possible biological diversity. These systems are susceptible to contamination due to the inherent connectivity between surface water and groundwater systems in karst systems. A partnership between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Tennessee Department of Conservation (TDEC) was formed to investigate karst spring systems across the state utilizing fluorescent groundwater tracing, particularly in areas where these resources may be used as drinking water sources. In fall 2021, USGS and TDEC staff identified possible vulnerabilities or complexities that may exist within karst spring systems...

Geophysical and Other Data From an Irrigation Monitoring Experiment at Haddam Meadows, CT, July 2019
An irrigation monitoring experiment was performed in Haddam Meadows State Park, Connecticut, on July 16, 2019. Prior to this experiment, ground penetrating radar (GPR), frequency domain electromagnetics (FDEM), and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) geophysical data were collected over a 20 meter by 10-meter grid to provide baseline information. A vertical soil moisture probe was installed in the center of this area that recorded volumetric water content, temperature, and electrical conductivity at 9 discrete depths down to 1 meter below land surface. Over the next 8 hours, 5,300 liters of irrigation water (with specific conductance of 1,000 microSiemens per centimeter) was sprayed as evenly as practical over...
This data release contains a geospatial database related to a digital 3D hydrogeologic framework model (3D HFM) of the Eel River Valley groundwater basin, California. The geospatial database contains two main data elements: (1) input data to the 3D HFM; (2) interpolated elevations and thicknesses of hydrogeologic units as a cellular array, which are a spatial representation of the 3D HFM results. Three hydrogeologic framework models of the same extent and similar conceptualization but successively increasing complexity were developed to characterize the structure, thickness, and extent of the materials within the basin; data from each phase of model-building are contained in this data release. The Phase 1 3D HFM...
