Data were collected in August, 2020 to support development of a bathymetric map for Larimore Dam in Grand Forks County, North Dakota. Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) surveying equipment was used in static and real-time kinematic (RTK) mode to establish a local reference mark and check-in/check-out point, to collect water surface elevations, and to collect topographic points along established data collection transects. Topographic points were collected on land, in water too shallow for boating, and in areas of the lake where thick aquatic vegetation prohibited use of an echosounder and transducer. In areas of the lake deep enough for boating and where aquatic vegetation was not present, depth data was collected...

It is well recognized that the climate is warming in response to anthropogenic emission of greenhouse gases. Over the last decade, this has had a warming effect on lakes. Water clarity is also known to effect water temperature in lakes. What is unclear is how a warming climate might interact with changes in water clarity in lakes. As part of a project at the USGS Office of Water Information, several water clarity scenarios were simulated for lakes in Wisconsin to examine how changing water clarity interacts with climate change to affect lake temperatures at a broad scale. This data set contains the following parameters: year, WBIC, durStrat, max_schmidt_stability, mean_schmidt_stability_JAS, mean_schmidt_stability_July,...

Lake Erie walleye (Stizostedion vitreum) recruitment fluctuates annually and depends partially on their diet and growth during their first year of life. To determine how age-0 walleye have responded to changes in prey species and abundance, larval and young of year walleye were collected from western Lake Erie in 2019 and 2014. Larval and young of year fish stomachs were extracted and dissected, with prey contents removed for later identification. All prey contents were identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level using a dissecting microscope and counted, with up to 20 prey items from each taxa per fish measured (0.01 mm) using a digital computer image analysis system. Zooplankton prey items were identified...
