Data presented are results of surveys in 2021 for San Diego Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus) in southern San Diego County. Surveys were conducted at 378 plots. Plots were surveyed twice in 2021 and the number, age (adult or juvenile), banding status (color banded or not), and breeding status (paired, unpaired, or unknown) of all wrens recorded. Habitat covariate data were collected including amount of dead and stressed cactus in the plot, percent cover of bare ground, and the dominant and percent cover of invasive species.
These data include potential Yuma Ridgway’s rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis) habitat classified from concurrently occurring Landsat images taken during telemetry field studies of and call count surveys for Yuma Ridgway's rail in 2016.

Data presented are results of surveys (2015) and monitoring (2015 and 2016) for San Diego Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus) in southern San Diego County. Surveys were conducted at 35 plots. Plots were surveyed twice in 2015 and the number, age (adult or juvenile), banding status (color banded or not), breeding status (paired, unpaired, or unknown), and nesting status (active nest detected or not) of all wrens recorded. Habitat covariate data were collected including amount of dead and stressed cactus in the plot, percent cover of bare ground, and the dominant and percent cover of invasive species. During weekly monitoring visits, nests were located and checked to determine the number of eggs laid, the...

Data presented are results of surveys and monitoring for San Diego Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus) in southern San Diego County. These data were collected to assess Cactus Wren population status following 3 years of drought and determine the relationships between specific elements of habitat quality, food availability, and Cactus Wren productivity and survival. Surveys were conducted periodically at 35 plots that were last surveyed in 2012. A subset of Cactus Wren territories were monitored in the Otay and Sweetwater/San Diego genetic clusters to ascertain Cactus Wren breeding productivity, survival, and associated vegetation composition and structure. Nesting data were compiled to present seasonal...
Data were obtained as part of a project assessing risk to the federal and California listed endangered Yuma Ridgway's rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis) populations resulting from selenium contaminated agricultural runoff and to inform habitat restoration and management decisions. Four data sets were produced and used to analyze patterns of Yuma Ridgway’s rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis, renamed from Rallus longirostris yumanensis [R. longirostris yumanensis retained in taxonomy section until further updated in ITIS system, https://www.itis.gov/submit.html]) occupancy and inter-marsh movements and to estimate rail abundance and regional population size to assess extent of selenium exposure of Yuma Ridgway’s rail...

Data presented are results of surveys and monitoring for San Diego Cactus Wren (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus) in southern San Diego County. These data were collected to assess Cactus Wren population status to determine the relationships between specific elements of habitat quality and Cactus Wren presence. Surveys were conducted periodically at 507 plots throughout San Diego County. Birds that had been banded in prior years with unique color combinations were identified to individual on subsequent visits to provide data on survival and movement between years. These data support the following publication: Lynn, S., and Kus, B.E., 2023, Distribution and demography of coastal Cactus Wrens (Campylorhynchus brunneicapillus)...
These data include site information for call count stations used to monitor secretive marshbirds, specifically Yuma Ridgway's rail (Rallus obsoletus yumanensis), at and near the Salton Sea and Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge (SBSSNWR) in 2016 and complete count information for four species of secretive marshbird [Yuma Ridgway's rail, Virginia rail (Rallus limicola), Sora (Porzana carolina), American bittern (Botaurus lentiginosus)], detected among surveys at those sites between March 8 and April 17, 2016. Also included is location information from Yuma Ridgway’s rails marked with radio-downloaded GPS transmitters and tracked between April 4 and November 17, 2016.

Data includes results collected in the Mohave Desert during 2016 using three survey methods (acoustic recording units, camera traps, and call-count surveys) to detect gamebirds, primarily Gambel's quail (Callipepla gambelii) but also including records of mourning dove (Zenaida macroura), Eurasian collared-dove (Streptopelia decaocto), and chukar (Alectoris chukar). ARU data includes the Selections (portions of the recording identified as potentially containing a Gambel's quail call) and Detections (quail calls confirmed following audible and visual verification of the recording and spectrogram). ARU data provided is summarized into hourly segments where selections occurred among five study sites. Camera trap data...

This dataset includes the results of a computer automated anuran vocalization recognition analysis of audio recordings made at Picayune Strand State Forest in 2011 and 2012. The audio files were scanned for 11 species of frogs and toads using the commercially available software program Song Scope (ver. 4.1.3). All detections by the software are listed here along with a "result" field which indicates whether or not the computer detection was a true positive or a false positive.
