This dataset includes discrete water quality data and sensor data from 2009-2017 for Beaver Creek above Victoria Creek and West Twin Creek in Alaska.
This is the Supporting Material for Chapter 06: Paired Difference Tests of the Center. This chapter addresses using matched-pair tests. As opposed to the tests of chapter 5, we now consider data having a logical pairing of observations within each group.

Surface-based 2D electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) surveys were used to investigate the distribution of permafrost at wetland sites on the alluvial plain north of the Tanana River, 20 km southwest of Fairbanks, Alaska, in June and September 2014. The sites contained habitat types characteristic of interior Alaska, including thermokarst bog, forested permafrost plateau, and a rich fen. These habitats range from treed to open and vary in groundcover vegetation and peat thickness. Individual surveys used a cable with 56 electrodes at 2-m spacing. At a fen site, ERT surveys were performed across a mixed spruce forest area across a vegetation gradient into an open fen area. At a bog site, surveys were performed...

Pollen was measured in ambient air by several methods and in wet atmospheric deposition samples at three monitoring sites in the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) National Trends Network. A method for counting pollen on filters was developed and provided pollen counts for NADP atmospheric wet-deposition samples and high-volume ambient air samplers (HVAS) for comparison with co-located traditional microscopy and PollenSense sensor counting methods during the 2021 pollen season. Air and precipitation samples were collected by the NADP and analyzed by the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, in Madison, Wisconsin and Aerobiology Research Laboratories (Canada). Daily data were obtained from online summaries...

This dataset contains all of the supporting materials to accompany Helsel, D.R., Hirsch, R.M., Ryberg, K.R., Archfield, S.A., and Gilroy, E.J., 2020, Statistical methods in water resources: U.S. Geological Survey Techniques and Methods, book 4, chapter A3, 454 p., https://doi.org/10.3133/tm4a3. [Supersedes USGS Techniques of Water-Resources Investigations, book 4, chapter A3, version 1.1.]. Supplemental material (SM) for each chapter are available to re-create all examples and figures, and to solve the exercises at the end of each chapter, with relevant datasets provided in an electronic format readable by R. The SM provide (1) datasets as .Rdata files for immediate input into R, (2) datasets as .csv files for input...

ScienceBase brings together the best information it can find about USGS researchers and offices to show connections to publications, projects, and data. We are still working to improve this process and information is by no means complete. If you don't see everything you know is associated with you, a colleague, or your office, please be patient while we work to connect the dots. Feel free to contact sciencebase@usgs.gov.
