Collections of 1 x 2, 1 x 3, and 2x 3-inch petrographic thin sections, mostly of sediments and sedimentary rocks from Nebraska. A few thin sections of igneous and metamorphic rocks from the subsurface of the state, and a few incidental thin-sections from various specimens collected outside of the state.
Several full and emeritus faculty members (at least 5) have individual holdings of thin sections generated in the process of performing geological survey duties.
Collections will almost certainly be lost in the absence of an enforced acquisition policy.
