Album caption: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. A pine tree about 6 feet high at timberline near the Longs Peak trail sheltered by a glacial boulder. Note the branches at the top turned eastward by the prevailing westerly winds and terminated at the top where the wind sweep over the boulder. W.T. Lee. July 21, 1916. Published as Plate 7-B in U.S. Geological Survey Bulletin 730-A.
