Summary

Boundary for floristic regions used for the conservation assessment of Greater Sage-grouse and sagebrush habitat conducted by the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. The floristic provinces were digitized from a figure from Miller, R. F., and L. Eddleman, 2001 (See source input for reference).

Purpose

This coverage defines the floristic context in which a range-wide conservation assessment of the Greater Sage-grouse and sagebrush habitats was conducted. Defining the major floristic properties of areas occupied by the historical distribution of sage grouse permitted the comparison of differences relative to the habitat characteristics and detection of potential causes of population changes or extirpation.
