Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site forested and non-forested land cover were typed with US National Vegetation Classification (2007) types, from 2004 Color Infrared, 1:8,000 scale photography and ground information. Data were projected to UTM, NAD83, zone 18, meters.

To provide an up-to-date digital geospatial vegetation database containing base line information about the park's vegetation associations to the park's resource managers in order to ensure effective, long-term management of the natural resources held in trust.
