The vast majority of the citizens of the upper Midwest and Great Lakes landscape live in metropolitan areas that have grown up around the region’s lakes and rivers.Many of these cities are important stopover sites for migratory birds, and all of these cities represent opportunities for re-greening and re-designing the sustainable and nature-connected cities of the future.
