Summary

This dataset consists of a detailed digital map and summary of irrigated acreage during the 2016 growing season developed for Polk County, Florida. Selected attribute data were collected for the irrigated areas, including crop type, primary water source, and type of irrigation system.

Purpose

To provide a spatial dataset presenting the 2016 Irrigated Agriculture land use areas for Polk County, Florida. The spatial dataset was prepared as part of a cooperative study between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) to provide a detailed digital map and summary of field-verified irrigated acreage within Polk County for the calendar year of 2016.
