Purpose
The tabular dataset is a compilation of all historic observations of whooping crane locations up through 1941. Most of the records were obtained from Robert Porter Allen's 1952 report, "The Whooping Crane"; an additional 73 records were added from records found since 1952. Each record location was overlaid with World Wildlife Fund system shape files to identify biome and ecoregion type.
