Summary

This is release 1.0 of the Selective Drainage Toolbox. These tools are designed to be accessed using ArcGIS Desktop software (versions 9.3.1 to 10.4.1). The toolbox is composed of a collection of custom tools that implement geographic information system (GIS) techniques that can be used to identify and enforce drainage hydro features in digital elevation models- with a specific applicability to high- resolution elevation models derived from light detection and ranging (lidar) data.

Purpose

The tools within this toolbox can be used to enforce hydro features in a lidar-derived elevation raster to better reflect the actual drainage network. The Global Selective Drainage tool can be used to identify potential locations of culverts in roadbeds, railroad grades, berms, and other built infrastructure. Another tool allows the user to hydroenforce culverts, sinks (which may be necessary to better reflect natural closed basins or built features such as wastewater lagoons or quarries) and wall features (such as berms or dikes). A utility function is also included to assist in development of elevation rasters. It is intended to weed points in a multipoint file before it is converted to an elevation raster.
