Summary

This data set contains 2,611 water levels collected by Natural Resources Districts in Central Nebraska. These water levels were collected by the districts to monitor groundwater levels within the districts. The water levels were provided to the USGS for use as calibration targets to the Elkhorn and Loup River Basin - Phase Three groundwater flow model. The water levels have not been previously published. This record serves as the publication record of the water levels in support of the Elkhorn and Loup River Basin - Phase Three groundwater flow model report.

Purpose

This dataset contains 2,611 water levels collected by various Natural Resources Dsitricts (NRDs) in Central Nebraska. The water levels were originally collected by the NRDs to monitor water levels within the districts. These water levels were used as calibration targets for the 1940-2010 model simulation described in the "Simulation of Groundwater Flow, 1895–2010, and Effects of Additional Groundwater Withdrawals on Future Stream Base Flow in the Elkhorn and Loup River Basins, Central Nebraska—Phase Three" report (Flynn and Stanton, 2018). This data set contains the date, location, and altitude of the water level, and additional identifying information for both the location of the well from which the water level was obtained and information identifying the unique water level as a calibration target in the model simulation. The water levels have not been publicly released prior to this report. These water levels are assumed to be accurate as provided.
