Summary
This dataset contains the monthly surface-water diversion allotments from March 1940 through 2014 for the 57 water-balance subregions (WBS) within the seven canal service units simulated in the Rio Grande Transboundary Integrated Hydrologic Model (RGTIHM). Allotment values are presented in units of acre-feet.

This dataset was used to constrain model-simulated monthly surface-water diversions to the 57 WBS within the seven canal service units in the RGTIHM, and as observations during model calibration. This dataset was filtered for use as observations during model calibration. The months corresponding to the first, second, third, and fourth annual quartiles of monthly flow at the Rio Grande below Caballo Dam stream gage (see the Annual Quartile attribute in the Rio_Grande_below_Caballo_fractions tabular dataset) were selected from this dataset for use in model calibration. Surface-water diversion allotments from months not classified as quartiles were not used in model calibration.
