Sepúlveda, N., 2018, Data Sets for the actual evapotranspiration (AET) rates from 2000 to 2017 in east-central and northeast Florida basins calculated using water-budget balance analysis (WBA), the Simplified Surface Energy Balance Operational (SSEBop) method, and the land-cover types method: U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P9WAS05D.

Summary

Actual evapotranspiration (AET) annual rates, from 2000 to 2017, for the Simplified Surface Energy Balance operational (SSEBop) method and from 2000 to 2016 for the land-cover based method, provided in shapefiles AET_SJR_Basin_Cells, are explained in the metadata file AET_SJR_Basins. The calculation of the annual average AET rates using a water-budget analysis (WBA) is explained in this metadata file referring to csv files for the eight basins in east-central and northeast Florida. A comparison of the average annual SSEBop AET rates and those derived from the WBA is then possible by using the average annual AET rates for each basin. The eight basins for which the WBA analysis was completed are: 1. St. Johns near Christmas basin (number [...]

Purpose

The average actual evapotranspiration (AET) annual rates for each basin and for each year from 2000 to 2017 using the water-budget analysis (WBA) were used to assess the reliability of the SSEBop rates. An application of the SSEBop annual AET rates is to guide the calibration of simulated AET rates in a surface-water/groundwater flow model. The AET rates from the WBA presented in the 8 csv files (named “WB_#.csv”, where “#” is the 8-digit basin number) had net differences of less than 10 percent compared to the SSEBop AET rates in all 8 basins.
