White-nose syndrome (WNS) Detection Method

ABSTRACT: Guano has shown promise as a means of detecting Pd exposure in bats and is being investigated for its potential use for early detection in areas where sampling bats during winter is not feasible. Pilot work at a small number of summer roosts in Wisconsin and Washington in Summer 2017 demonstrated that Pd could be detected from guano accumulating under above-ground bat roosts for up to a 28-day period throughout the summer.
