Former agency geologists analyzed core and cuttings to produce 971 hand drawn logs that cover wells that were drilled from 1920's to 1970 and include coverage of the entire state. Strip logs are produced from data collected from drilling and then transfered to strips of paper. The logs contain a graphic column that describes the rock types encountered during drilling with the use of colors and patterns. These colors and patterns are made with pencil, pen, and colored pencils. To the side of the column contains the lithologic description of rock units.
