Summary

Index card: Small crevices formed in the mud-flats along the south shore of Hebgen Lake. The entire shore was broken by many such cracks which apparently formed as water-soaked sediments slumped toward the deeper part of the lake--in this case, toward the right of the photograph. Hebgen Lake earthquake, Gallatin County, Montana. August 1959.
