Summary
These data are comprised of tables containing the total number of irrigated acres estimated from AIWUM version 1.0 within the Mississippi Delta as defined by Ladd and Travers (2019) and the average withdrawal rates used as input to AIWUM version 1.0 for 6 different categories: aquaculture, cotton, corn, rice, soybeans, and all other crops. Units for the irrigated acres and average withdrawal rates are acres and acre-feet per acre (or feet), respectively.

The withdrawal rates were used as input to AIWUM version 1.0 to estimate aquaculture and irrigation water-use and summaries of irrigated acres were created to better understand the total area irrigated for each crop and each year within the Mississippi Delta to provide a framework for future water-use monitoring and modeling efforts on the Mississippi Alluvial Plain project (https://www.usgs.gov/centers/lmg-water/science/mississippi-alluvial-plain-map-water-availability-study-0?qt-science_center_objects=0#qt-science_center_objects).
