Summary

A Bell 407 helicopter with a gyro-stabilized gimbal was used to collect aerial videos of Upper Colorado River Integrated Water Science basin riverine study sites on June 13, 2022. Videos were collected during two flights on June 13, 2022 and focused on study sites along the Colorado River near Windy Gap. The video are in a natural color camera channel (CH_1) and a thermal infrared camera channel (CH_2).

Helicopter-based videos were collected to support a USGS Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) research project in the Upper Colorado River basin. The project aims to evaluate the potential to estimate river surface flow velocities from aerial imagery.
