Summary

These data consist of juvenile lake trout biological and diet information collected from USGS bottom trawl, beam trawl, and gillnet surveys in Lake Michigan from 2015-2017 and 2019-2022. All prey were identified, enumerated and weighed. Only fish prey and Mysis had lengths measured.

Purpose

These data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great lakes Science Center (GLSC) better understand the feeding ecology of juvenile lake trout (<400 mm) in Lake Michigan. These data are intended for use by Lake Michigan fisheries managers, academia, the fishing industry, and the public. Data can be used to estimate diet proportions of juvenile lake trout.
