Summary
This map shows the geology in and around two potential early Apollo landing sites in the lunar equatorial belt. The Wichmann CA region is in Oceanus Procellarum, south of the equator, approximmately 320 km south of the crater Kepler. It is covered by mare material with numerous ridges, low domes, craters, and crater clusters. Relatively few of the craters are larger than 200 m across. Terra material is absent.

Digitized 1:100,000-scale geologic map of the I624 - Wichmann CA Region of the Moon. Originally mapped on ORB III-11 (100) Army Map Service imagery. The scanned map sheet was imported into ArcMap and georeferenced to the more current 2019 global LRO LOLA - SELENE Kaguya TC Shaded Relief. Contacts and geologic units were digitized and attributed based on type and unit name. Images for digitizing were obtained from the 2015 global LRO LOLA - SELENE Kaguya TC Shaded Relief Merge 60N60S 59m v1.
