The purpose of this data release is to provide seamless, integrated geologic map data at an intermediate scale (1:50,000 to 1:250,000 scale) for the U.S. Intermountain West. This data set is applicable to answering fundamental Earth Science questions for which geologic mapping is an essential foundational source of data. This dataset addresses strategic goals of the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program of the U.S. Geological Survey (Brock and others, 2021).
