Summary

These data consist of lake trout and burbot diet information collected from USGS spring and fall gillnet surveys in Northern Lake Michigan from 2021-2023. All prey were identified, enumerated and weighed. Only fish prey had lengths measured.

Purpose

These data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC) to better understand the feeding ecology and potential consumption of stocked juvenile lake trout in Northern Lake Michigan by lake trout and burbot. These data are intended for use by Lake Michigan fisheries managers, academia, the fishing industry, and the public. Data can be used to estimate diet proportions of lake trout and burbot.
