Summary

Crane Creek is a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative-funded coastal wetland restoration project that seeks to reconnect the diked coastal marsh to Crane Creek and improve water quality and fish habitat. Vegetation sampling data and previously completed vegetation maps exist for this study area and will be used to assist in the interpretation of the 2014 imagery.

Purpose

The USGS’ Upper Midwest Environment Sciences Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin will provide a geospatial dataset of vegetation for the approximately 1,080 acre Crane Creek Estuary of Lake Erie (located in Ottawa NWR in Lucas and Ottawa Counties, OH) in the GIS shapefile format using natural color and color infrared (CIR) aerial imagery collected on July 17, 2014 at 8"/pixel using a minimum mapping unit of 25 square meters.
