The attached files contain color transparencies, color prints and black and white prints of daily activities on the floating research station, Fletcher's Ice Island (T-3) in the Arctic Ocean during 1968-1969. The photographs were taken by Dave Scoboria, who was the only USGS presence on the island and solely responsible for the measurements. Note: These images are also availble individually on the Photographic Collection website. Dave Scoboria grew up in rural Pennsylvania, and as a boy he dreamed of going to the Arctic. After graduation from high school in 1968, he lived for eleven months, from November 13, 1968 through May 1, 1969, then from June 1, 1969 through October 3, 1969, on Fletcher's Ice Island (T-3), a floating research [...]
