The goal of this project was to advance the Hawai‘i Landscape-scale Mosquito Control Program (now called Birds, Not Mosquitoes) for application across the Hawaiian Islands.
Project accomplishments include a summary of the regulatory approval process, agreement among agencies about state and federal permit options and decisions on who will be the lead applicant for each; criteria for field trial sites; a community engagement strategy; and community engagement activities with internal, external, and priority audiences, including through presentations, videos, artices, and a web presence. American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is extremely grateful to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for providing critical funding support to support these activities and the overall advancement of this program.
