This data set shows the portion of PFLCC's Priority Resource: Freshwater Forested Wetlands that is currently labelled as 'Verified Impaired Water Body' by the State of Florida DEP. Because it takes so much data and time to remove a body from the Verified Impaired List, this data set will not be used as a Conservation Target to indicate water quality within Freshwater Forested Wetlands. PFLCC Staff are seeking additional data sources that could provide that information.

The data set includes delineation of sampling strata for the six study reaches of the UMRR Program’s LTRM element. Separate strata coverages exist for each of the three monitoring components (fish, vegetation, and water quality) to meet the differing sampling needs among components. Generally, the sampling strata consist of main channel, side channel, backwater, and impounded areas. The fish component further delineates a “shoreline” portion of the strata to be used for sampling gears deployed only along the shoreline. The data are raster in origin, with the center of each pixel representing the sampling location. Cell size is typically 50 meters, although several water quality strata are at 200 meter cell size.

REPORT PROJECT BACKGROUND: Golden alga (Prymnesium parvum) is a harmful algal species that is primarily found in marine ecosystems but is also present and invasive in brackish inland waters. The first documented bloom of golden alga in the United States occurred in the Pecos River in 1985. This species has since invaded other water bodies in the Pecos River basin (e.g. sinkhole habitats, reservoirs) and has been reported in at least 23 U.S. states. Toxins produced by golden alga can be lethal to fishes, bivalves, crayfish, and gilled amphibians. The ecological and economical impacts of golden alga blooms have been severe. Percent change in climatic water deficit relative to the 1981-2010 climate period These maps display the average percent change in climatic water deficit (CWD) from the 1981-2010 climate period to a future climate period for each watershed. Percent change in CWD is provided for two climate projections for each of the three IPCC-SRES scenarios – A1B, A2 and B1. Future time periods displayed include 2010-2039, 2040-2069 and 2070-2099. In 2016, the total amount of public-supply water withdrawn in Puerto Rico was estimated at 551 million gallons per day (Mgal/d) from fresh water sources. Surface water accounted for 492 Mgal/d (89 percent) and groundwater accounted for 59 Mgal/d (11 percent). Population served by public-supply water systems accounted for 3.4 million people, almost 100 percent of the total population. Researchers have consistently prioritized the need to measure the status and trends of stream and lake temperatures across Alaska landscapes, and to compile those data for predictive modeling. The goal of this project is to develop an open statewide water temperature network with easily understood and readily implemented data standards to support landscape-level assessments. Development of two-tiered data standard will allow data collectors and data managers the flexibility to use their existing agency protocols, yet set standards that are scientifically robust and suitable for landscape-level analysis.

This water bottling inventory dataset includes facilities within all 50 states of the United States, one federal district (Washington, District of Columbia), and three territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands). The 'Vulture: Mine water analysis reports' file is part of the A. F. Budge Mining Ltd. Mining collection. A. F. Budge Mining Ltd., a British company owned by Tony Budge, controlled properties across several western U. S. states and northern Mexico. The company was active in Arizona during the 1980s and into the early 1990s. The collection consists of economic geologic information including maps, logs, reports and records. A few properties make up most of the collection: Vulture, United Verde Extension and Korn Kob.

Public-supply water withdrawals in Puerto Rico have been compiled annually since 2014 as part of an ongoing effort between the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority and the U.S Geological Survey. In 2020, the total amount of public-supply water withdrawn in Puerto Rico was estimated at 602 million gallons per day (Mgal/d) from freshwater sources. Surface-water withdrawals accounted for 537 Mgal/d (89 percent) and groundwater withdrawals accounted for 65 Mgal/d (11 percent). Population served by public-supply water systems accounted for 3.3 million people, almost 100 percent of the total population. Public-supply water withdrawals were tabulated by municipality and by public water system.

Water-quality data were collected by the Providence Water Supply Board (PWSB) from tributaries in the Scituate Reservoir drainage area, October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2022 (water years 2018 through 2022). Water-quality samples were collected by the PWSB either monthly or quarterly at fixed stations on 38 tributaries in the Scituate Reservoir drainage area, Rhode Island. These data were used to calculate instantaneous loads and yields of constituents in reports by the U.S. Geological Survey. This data release contains estimates of annual nitrogen and phosphorus loads, as well as loads of other constituents, from sites in the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) Ambient Water Quality Monitoring Network.
