These data are part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long term monitoring program, nearshore monitoring component. Specifically, these data describe sea otter (Enhydra lutris) aerial survey observations from the waters around Katmai National Park and Preserve from surveys conducted in 2008, 2012, 2015, and 2018. Sea otters are a keystone predator, well known for structuring the nearshore marine ecosystem through their consumption of invertebrate prey. The dataset consists of 3 comma-delimited files (CSV) exported from Microsoft Excel. The data consists of (1) Strip transect counts, (2) Intensive Search Unit (ISU) counts, and (3) Transect coordinates. For each aerial survey, a pilot flew an airplane at an altitude...

This data set is comprised of one table with sampling information and NCBI BioProject accession numbers for sequence information of this amplicon-based study targeting Labyrinthula, Phytophthora, and Halophytophthora of known pathogenic and non-pathogenic [to eelgrass (Zostera marina)] strains from eDNA samples. eDNA samples included water, sediment, and eelgrass from Notsuke Wan (Cove) Japan, Safety Sound, Izembek Lagoon, Port Moller, Chignik Lagoon, and Frederick Sound, Alaska and cloacal swabs from waterfowl hunted near Cold Bay Alaska. Replicate samples and multiple sampling dates of the same location were included. Highly conserved primers which could differentiate species of interest were developed for four...

This dataset provides computed remotely-sensed streamflows (RSQ) at river reaches of selected rivers in Alaska. We used the relation between water-surface elevation data derived from satellite altimetry and dynamic surface water extent data derived from LANDSAT and Sentinel imagery data with the Modified Optimized Manning Method Algorithm (MOMMA) to compute remotely sensed streamflows. Data are organized in ZIP packages named for each river reach. Reach-specific details are provided in a README file included in each river reach ZIP package. Depending on the input data available for specific reaches, we used different workflows to estimate river reach width and process the data from river reaches. Each workflow...

These data are part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long-term monitoring program and describe bivalve count and size sampling and observations conducted at intertidal soft-sediment sampling sites in the northern Gulf of Alaska. This dataset consists of five comma separated files (.csv): 1) bivalve taxonomy table, 2) bivalve sampling site table, 3) bivalve count table, 4) bivalve size table, and 5) list of Gulf Watch Alaska principal investigators and collaborators. This is a child item of the USGS Data Release: https://doi.org/10.5066/F74J0C9Z. These data are part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long term monitoring program, pelagic monitoring component. This dataset consists of multiple tables (one for each year of sampling), providing several physical oceanographic measures at sampling stations throughout Prince William Sound, Alaska. Data were collected with a Seabird Electronics conductivity-temperature-depth (CTD) profiler equipped with various sensors and data were processed with Seabird Electronics software. Data include: date, time, latitude, longitude, depth, conductivity, temperature, salinity, turbidity, fluorescence, density, oxygen, pH, Par, sound velocity, beam...
