The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, developed a predictive, mechanistic, three-dimensional hydrodynamic model for the St. Louis River Estuary (SLRE), Minnesota. This model was developed with Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC), a grid-based, surface-water modeling package for simulating three-dimensional circulation, mass transport, sediments, and biogeochemical processes. The new model predicts discharge, water-surface elevations, flow velocity, and water temperature. The model was calibrated using data collected from April 2016 through November 2016 and validated with...

This dataset contains drainage basin boundaries for 253 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in Alaska that had at least 5 years of daily streamflow through September 30, 2017, three of which were delineated for alternate basin conditions. This compilation includes selected boundaries produced in 2014 (https://doi.org/10.5066/P143KNEJ). Additional basin boundaries were delineated from the streamgage location to the nearest USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) HUC boundary and along HUC boundaries from that intersection to the basin headwaters. Streamgages selected for drainage basin delineation included streamgages in Alaska that met selection criteria for a statewide study of seasonal flow regimes (Curran...

A long history of mining and widespread metals contamination in the Spokane River watershed have led to the area's designation as a Superfund site and extensive, ongoing remedial actions. Long-term (water years 1990 to 2018) water-quality data from twelve sites were used to develop Weighted Regressions on Time, Discharge and Season (WRTDS) and WRTDS with Kalman filtering (WRTDS_K) models for total and dissolved cadmium, zinc and lead; total phosphorus and nitrogen; and dissolved orthophosphate. The models estimated annual mean concentrations and annual total loads, and flow-normalized annual mean concentrations and flow-normalized annual total loads. Flow-normalized annual mean concentrations and flow-normalized...

The dataset includes a table in comma delimited format of daily evapotranspiration (ET) from 6/14/2018 to 12/31/2020 from an ET station within the Blue Cypress Marsh Conservation Area, within Indian River County, Florida. Evapotranspiration was estimated using eddy-covariance methods and missing records were gap-filled with a version of the Turc equation (Trajkovic and Kolakovic, 2009) that was regressed against observed values of eddy-covariance ET. The Turc equation performed exceptionally well (r-squared value of 0.94) for reproducing observed daily ET rates. Daily ET values estimated with the Turc equation are identified by a column with a "T" value indicator. Data processing methods were similar to methods...
