This data release presents aerial imagery and structure-from-motion (SfM) data products from uncrewed aerial system (UAS) surveys conducted on the ocean beaches adjacent to the Columbia River Mouth at the Oregon-Washington border. The surveys cover approximately 3 kilometers of Benson Beach at Cape Disappointment State Park north of the Columbia River mouth, in Washington, and 3 kilometers of the beach at Fort Stevens State Park south of the river mouth, in Oregon. The surveys were conducted using a Department of Interior-owned quadcopter fitted with a digital camera featuring a global shutter. The UAS was flown on pre-programmed autonomous flight lines which were spaced to provide sufficient overlap between...

This model archive summary details the suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) model developed to compute 15-minute SSC values from 15-minute turbidity data for the period October 01, 2017 through September 30, 2020. The methods used follow U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) guidance as referenced in Office of Water Quality Technical Memorandum 2016.10 (USGS 2016) and USGS Techniques and Methods, book 3, chapter C4 (Rasmussen and others 2009). A WY is defined as the period from October 1 of one year through September 30 of the following year and is categorized by the year in which it ends.

This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over Columbia, South Carolina, and the surrounding region. The airborne data collection was funded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Earth Mapping Resource Initiative (Earth MRI) with goals of better understanding placer deposits containing critical mineral resources titanium, zirconium, and rare earth elements and of imaging the crystalline basement partly buried beneath Atlantic Coastal Plain sediments. The survey was flown northwest of and slightly overlapping an airborne magnetic and radiometric survey collected in 2019 (Shah, 2020). The northwestern boundary of the 2020 survey lies within the...

This data release includes data collected in the pursuit of identifying pre- and post-colonial riparian ecosystems found throughout Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. A single raster file is included, and represents a topological classification of the entire county according to a hydrologically conditioned Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Ten shapefiles are also included, nine of which represent the depths of various soil layers as identified by ground-penetrating radar for two detailed study sites within Anne Arundel County. A tenth documents the depths cored at both detailed study sites, and their spatial locations. Finally, twenty comma-delimited tables are included in this release with fifteen tables documenting...

This data release includes geochronological data for a paleoseismic trench exposure of the Sawtooth fault, Idaho at the Dutch Lake site (44.343806, -115.17643). Laboratory data include 14 charcoal radiocarbon ages processed at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility (NOSAMS) and 8 infrared stimulated luminescence (IRSL) ages for feldspar processed at the U.S. Geological Survey Luminescence Dating Laboratory. The radiocarbon and luminescence samples were collected September 2022.

A continuous resistivity profiling (CRP) survey was conducted in a 1.2-mile reach of the Similkameen River upstream of Enloe Dam in December 2021 in Washington State. The survey was performed to characterize the resistivity of the water column and subbottom materials using the CRP method. The survey consisted of eight longitudinal profiles roughly equivalent in length and conducted in the right, left and center of the channel. In this survey, a 100-m cable with 11 electrodes spaced 10 m apart and outfitted with floatation aids was towed behind a boat at speeds of 1-1.5 m/s and data were collected using the dipole-dipole array type. In this configuration, two electrodes nearest the boat transmitted electric current...
Average abundances of polar/subpolar planktic foraminiferal species n the North Atlantic for Nordic Sea ODP Sites 907 and 909 represent percentages when Nordic Sea water was warm enough to support foraminifera. N. atlantica relative abundances at very high northern latitudes (ODP Site 909) are lower than at subpolar latitudes because N. pachyderma (s) dominated these very cold waters during the Pliocene.

Water supply lakes are the primary source of water for many communities in northern and western Missouri. Therefore, accurate and up-to-date estimates of lake capacity are important for managing and predicting adequate water supply. Many of the water supply lakes in Missouri were previously surveyed by the U.S. Geological Survey in the early 2000s (Richards, 2013) and in 2013 (Huizinga, 2014); however, years of potential sedimentation may have resulted in reduced water storage capacity. Periodic bathymetric surveys are useful to update the area/capacity table and to determine changes in the bathymetric surface. From March to May 2021, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural...

Under the direction and funding of the National Cooperative Mapping Program with guidance and encouragement from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a digital database of three-dimensional (3D) vector data, displayed as two-dimensional (2D) data-extent bounding polygons. This geodatabase is to act as a virtual and digital inventory of 3D structure contour and isopach vector data for the USGS National Geologic Synthesis (NGS) team. This data will be available visually through a USGS web application and can be queried using complimentary nonspatial tables associated with each data harboring polygon. This initial publication contains 60 datasets collected directly from USGS specific publications and federal...

This data release presents geologic map data for the surficial geology of the Durango 1-degree by 2-degree quadrangle and adjacent areas along the northern boundary of the quadrangle. The map area lies within two physiographic provinces of Fenneman (1928): the Southern Rocky Mountains province, and the Colorado Plateau province, Navajo section. Geologic mapping is mostly compiled from published geologic map data sources ranging from 1:24,000 to 1:250,000 scale, with limited new interpretive contributions. Gaps in map compilation are related to a lack of published geologic mapping, and not necessarily a lack of surficial deposits. Much of the geology incorporated from published geologic maps is adjusted based on...

Observations of widespread liquefaction and stratigraphic and structural relationships in a trench across an ambiguous scarp are used to constrain the timing of Holocene earthquakes on the northwest-striking Wallula fault zone in southeast Washington and Oregon. Additional observations and age constraints from OSL analysis of samples collected from large-scale liquefaction features that crosscut the Mount St Helens J tephra (13.8-13.7 ka) exposed at a nearby outcrop suggest up to 3 Holocene regional liquefaction events, any of which were likely triggered by seismic shaking sourced from either the Wallula fault and/or faults of the Yakima fold and thrust belt. Our observations provide plausible evidence supporting...
