American pikas (Ochotona princeps) are small lagomorphs that live in mountainous talus areas of western North America. Studies on the histopathology of American pikas are limited. This report summarizes the clinical histories, and gross and histologic findings of 12 American pikas, including nine captive and three wild animals. Death was often attributed to stress (transport, handling, and anesthesia) with few to no premonitory clinical signs. Two cases died due to infection: one had bacterial pyogranulomatous dermatitis, cellulitis, and lymphadenitis with sepsis; the other case had fungal necrotizing colitis. Incidental parasite infections included sarcocystosis, nematodiasis (oxyurids), and ectoparasitism. Most...

The Arctic_shorebird_egg_float_tool.xls was developed by Rob Rankin (updated in 2021 by Sarah Saalfeld) to estimate hatch dates, nest initiation dates, nest incubation dates, and nest age based on egg floatation equations developed by Liebezeit, J.R., P.A. Smith, R.B. Lanctot, H. Schekkerman, I. Tulp, S.J. Kendall, D.M. Tracy, R.J. Rodrigues, H. Meltofte, J.A. Robinson, C. Gratto-Trevor, B.J. Mccaffery, J. Morse & S.W. Zack. 2007. Assessing the development of shorebird eggs using the flotation method: species-specific and generalized regression models. Condor 109: 32-47.This tool can be found in the protocol folder. This tool provides species-specific estimates for 10 species: American Golden-Plover (AMGP), Dunlin...

These data describe the results of virus isolation from oropharyngeal/cloacal swabs and testing of sera by a commercial blocking enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (bELISA) and hemagglutinin (HA) specific testing by microneutralization (MN) and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) for Lesser Scaup in both the Atlantic and Pacific Flyways and Greater Scaup in the Pacific Flyway. These data support a USGS published manuscript.

This dataset contains two- and quasi-three-dimensional hydrodynamic model outputs from the Flow and Sediment Transport with Morphologic Evolution of CHannels (FaSTMECH) hydrodynamic model in the open-source binary Visualization Toolkit (VTK) format (https://vtk.org/). The simulations were run at flows in the range of 185-635 cms at increments of 30 cms. This set of flow conditions pertains to the base lateral eddy viscosity scenario referred to as LEVx1 in Call et al., 2023. Files can be opened using the open-source software program Paraview: (https://www.paraview.org/).

These two datasets contain metrics from hydrodynamic and particle tracking simulations for two sub-reaches of the Upper Missouri River near Wolf Point, MT. The upstream reach is referred to as the “upper” reach while the downstream reach is referred to as the “lower” reach. Simulations were performed for 16 flows in the range of 185-635 cms at increments of 30 cms.

Tabular and raster data containing spatial capture recapture records for male and female bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) in Grand Canyon National Park and surrounding landscape collected from 2010 to 2018 and associated tabular data files required for analysis of data with spatial capture connectivity models and raster data describing the ouput from SCR models. Associated tables and rasters include details for traps and genetic captures, and the state space for required modeling and associated spatial covariates in models, as well as rasters describing population density and habitat use.

This dataset contains particle starting location files for particle tracking simulations of the Upper Missouri River near Wolf Point, MT using the “Fluvial Particle” particle tracking model (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9K1U4O0). The file “DriftExperiment_StartLocations_n30000.csv” corresponds to particle simulations of a July 1, 2019, larval drift experiment. This file is configured to simulate 30,000 particles run in serial (i.e., 30,000 particles run on a single CPU). The files “ReachComparison_StartLocations_Lower_n250.csv” and “ReachComparison_StartLocations_Upper_n250.csv” correspond to particle simulations comparing the upper and lower sub-reaches of the larger model reach. Each of these simulations also used...
