Summary

This dataset consists of two tables: 1) forage fish catch and size data from hydroacoustic trawl transects, and 2) taxonomic details of fish species collected around two seabird nesting colonies on Gull and Chisik Islands in lower Cook Inlet, Alaska.

Purpose

These data were collected to estimate the biomass and quality of forage fish in the water column of lower Cook Inlet, Alaska. Forage fish are a vital part of marine ecosystems, as they are the primary food source for piscivorous seabirds, such as Black-legged Kittiwakes and Common Murres.
